On October 19, 2005, the Restorative Justice Task Force of the Santa Maria Valley developed a Vision and Mission statement, as well as a strategic plan for the next 3 years. With the faciliation services of Jon Kidde with the California Community Justice Project of the Administrative Office of the Courts, the following Vision and Mission statements were adopted. Since then, the Restorative Justice Task Force of Santa Barbara has adopted a similar Mission.
VISION
By implementing Restorative Justice principles, Santa Maria becomes a community where citizens feel safe and secure, where victims and community are restored, where offenders are held accountable and become valued community members
MISSION
Through education and collaboration the Santa Maria Restorative Justice Task Force promotes the development of policies and practices that will increase victim and community involvement for restoration; offender accountability and integration; community participation; and improved conflict resolution skills and interventions
