Many of you may be familiar with the "wiki" world so I hope you will add your own ideas for how we can best use this tool for collaborating, sharing information, staying current with what is transpiring in Santa Barbara County, and forming partnerships to spread RJ principles and practices within your overlapping spheres of endeavor. Here's a novice's view of possibilities:
- The most frequently asked question is, "What's restorative justice?" One use of this wiki is distribute its address to inquirers who can explore the concept as broadly as they wish.
- The hardest task is sorting through all of the information that is available. As a task force member, you may run across articles, books, websites, etc. that are especially helpful. Please share these as you find them. It will increase the vitality of this wiki!
- Critiques are windows into how this can become high quality information source. Please comment on what you personnally find valuable, where you notice gaps to fill, and anything you think requires clarification. Obviously, if you spot glaring errors, send up a flare by contacting the owner (below under "About this wiki").
- Another FAQ is about the RJTF's intent and activities. A general orientation, "What is the RJTF?" is available from the Side Bar. Comments here are especially welcomed since each region is different in terms of when the local task force was formed and what initiatives have been undertaken. What has worked well? What needs to be enhanced? How do we improve its relevance and impact?
- Related to intent and activities are the Side Bar feature for Community Action Alerts and the Calendar for events taking place. Any item of concern that you requires quick-quicker-quickest action, volunteers or could benefit from another's perspective may be posted as an edit to the Community Action Alerts page.
- Events such as workshops, conferences, trainings, meetings and lectures that could have appeal to task force members are best posted on the Calendar.
